What is AFUE of a furnace?
Category: Window Air & Heat Units Post By: Eda Stone (Suffolk, VA), 07/23/2016

Every furnace has an AFUE (annual fuel utilization efficiency) rating which is assigned to it by its manufacturer. This rate talks of how much heat a furnace generates from per unit of fuel. The higher the AFUE rate more the efficiency. AFUE is calculated through a complex formula that takes into account many factors, such as fuel use, electricity use, and the fans used in the furnace.
